kimononagoya:

I love the boldness and 20’s Taisho-style colors in this coordination, particularly how chaotic and exciting the patterns are. The ume flowers on the kimono is almost the same size as the checkerboard on the long haori. Even though the haori has bright white and the kimono has a cream background, the repetition of the red and small sprinkles of colors connects the two pieces harmoniously. I especially enjoy the dark, warm brown of the obi that anchors the coordination and provides a focal point.
The dark squares in the haori are sprinkled around and echo the brown obi as well as the model’s hair color!
